HDFC and Gaja Capital Partners has bought a stake in Indus World Schools, a K-12 education unit of Career Launcher India Limited, for around Rs.40-50 Cr. The amount raised by Indus World will be used for its expansion plans, as it plans to increase its current 9-school chain to 75-school chain over the next five years.
Indus World Schools (IWS) was established by IIT and IIM alumni comprising of R. Satya Narayanan, Gautam Puri, Nikhil Mahajan, Sujith Bhattacharya, R. Srinivasan, D Vijay Kumar and Shiv Kumar, also the founders of Career Launcher.
The first school was opened in 2005 in Hyderabad and currently IWS is a 9-school chain spread across cities like Indore, Hyderabad, Raipur, Bhiwani, Mandi, Ahmednagar, Gurgaon, Jalgaon, and Aurangabad. |
